The Senatorial Chairman of the Iba Gani Adams led Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Alhaji Muritala Adekola Ifawale popularly known as “E le Omo Buruku Danu” has shown his displeasure over the incessant power outage by IBEDC at Omi Adio in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to him, IBEDC as the company that is saddled with the distribution of light has failed in their responsibility.
“What have we done in Omi Adio that made them to relegate us by not giving us light as at when due? Omi Adio is one of the biggest Local Government Area in Oyo State. It is uncalled for.
“The unfortunate thing is that, there’s this company called ZARTECH that the light they supposed to be generating to us is being distributed to them because it was confirmed that the company do bribe them so as to make sure they have light. Are we not entitled to have light? Or are we second class citizens of Omi Adio? No! I was born and bread at Omi Adio. Am a bona-fide citizen of Omi Adio. It’s over 6 months now that we have had light which is not too good.
“I want to implore IBEDC to as a matter of urgency find a lasting solution to it. Omi Adio is a town and not a village. We have big personalities that are from Omi Adio such as Niyi Akintola, Prof. Niyi Olowofela and Co.
He, however, appealed to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Ibadan Mogajis, Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo to look into the suspension of Baale Muritala Babalola, Gbadewolu 1, Onido of Ido.
“I am pleading on behalf of Baale Muritala Babalola that our Governor should forgive him for whatsoever he might have done because during his reign, Ido witnessed a lot of development in all areas. And apart from that, all the people in Ido Local government love the way he administers the town.
“Once again, my amiable Governor, Oba Muritala should be given another chance. Thank you sir,” he posited.
