The message has been sent by the Honorable Tamuno Kpokpo, Chairman of the Ijaw Youths Council, that Governor Siminalayi Fubara ought to be permitted to lead Rivers State without intervention.
He emphasized the presence of more than three million young people in the Rivers region and issued a dire warning if the governor is prevented from carrying out his responsibilities as the state’s executive leader.
In order to maintain calm in Rivers State, he urged the President to give the FCT minister a call.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”Leave Sim alone to govern Rivers State. This is not a threat, we are more than 3 million youths here today. We are going to occupy all the oil facilities and we are going to shut down the country economy. We can’t be working like elephant and be eating like ants as Ijaw people, Rivers people, and Niger Delta people. Mr President, we are counting on your leadership and we know your capacity. Call your FCT minister to order, we need peace and we want peace in Rivers state.”
