Suspected armed robbers attacked the iconic Abdullahi Supermarket in One Man Village near Mararaba on Tuesday evening, killing four people including a staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Daniel Adefemi Okunade, identified by his identity card as CBN personnel, was shot in the head and died instantly.
Three other people who were brutally slain with him could not be identified as of the time of this report.
According to eyewitnesses, the heist lasted less than two minutes, during which the CBN staff, who is also the choirmaster of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in One Man Village, was gunned down.
He was alleged to have stopped at the Supermarket to get bread for his family when the robbers broke into the always-busy supermarket and killed four customers. The men of the underworld did not touch his automobile, which was parked outside the Supermarket.
The late Okunade was claimed to be on his way home from work when he was killed by the accused robbers.
The mood in the vicinity remained tense at the time of this report, as customers continued to flock into the Supermarket to identify the robbery victims.
Meanwhile, officers from the New Nyayan Divisional Police Station have transferred the robbery victims’ bodies to the Mararaba Medical Centre mortuary in Mararaba. The authorities have not yet made any information about the event public.
Hundreds of sympathisers, including church members, have flocked to the late CBN staff’s home to express their condolences to his family.
