Premier League side Crystal Palace have swooped to appoint Oliver Glasner as their new manager at Selhurst Park.

Pulse Sports Nigeria can report that the Eagles have parted ways with veteran coach Roy Hodgson, with Glasner set to take reigns at the club.

According to a post on social media from reliable transfer guru,  Fabrizio Romano,, Palace have swiftly moved to fire Hodgson after positive talks with Glasner.

The Austrian football coach has given his green light for the deal and will put pen to paper on a two-year deal that will see him hope to help the Eagles preserve their Premier League status this season.

“Crystal Palace have appointed Oliver Glasner as new head coach! Roy Hodgson has been fired” Romano posted.

“Positive approach revealed yesterday night and agreement being sealed now as contracts are being reviewed,” he added.

Glasner will join Palace with a wealth of experience having managed Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and  Eintrancht Frankfurt, who are his last club.

With the appointment, the Eagles have opted for a new progressive direction under the highly-rated Glasner as they look to maintain their PL slot.

Meanwhile, Palace has confirmed that Hodgson will not be holding a press conference today due to an illness.

“Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session,” the club posted.

The club added that that he is now stable and is currently undergoing tests in hospital.
