Mixed reactions continue to trail a viral video where an unidentified Muslim cleric was seen saying the wife of the president, Remi Tinubu, deserved to be killed by Muslims for being the leader of infidels.
According to this newspaper, in the viral video, the cleric is heard saying the Muslim/Muslim ticket that brought President Bola Tinubu to power was a scam.
Joining others to condemn the video, an ex-aide to President Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, said the Islamic Cleric who expresses such views deviates from the core principles of Islam as their religion teaches them to live peacefully with others. The Quran and Hadith emphasize respect and tolerance, regardless of their faith or background.
Bashir Ahmad went on to say Prophet Muhammad, throughout his lifetime, lived peacefully alongside people of varying faiths and hopes the Islamic Cleric in the video will be invited for questioning by the authorities.
