The Oba Olorisa Adulawo Ekiti State Chapter, Oba Ala Ojo has revealed that his organisation would host its next traditional tourism carnival in Ekiti State this year.
Oba Ala made this revelation while registering “Ijo Olorisa Parapo ati Asa Adulawo” with the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development at the Governor’s Office recently.
Oba Ala who came with a large entourage for the registration said “We are here not only to register our association with Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development for certification purposes but most importantly, we are seeking for collaboration and cooperation of this Bureau which is charged with the promotion and showcasing of tourism and tourists endeavours in Ekiti”.
He said “we are excited to announce that we shall be moving over 3000 Olorisas, lovers of African traditional belivers and practitioners of culture to Ekiti this year. We are also happy to meet this
Governor Biodun Oyebanji has positioned the Bureau of Tourism to give vent and add value to tourism development and promotion. Thus our desire to work with this Bureau”.
Oba Ala said: “During the carnival, attendees will have the opportunity to witness spectacular processions, partake in traditional rite, experience live performances by renowned African musicians, and indulge in a diverse range of authentic cuisine. This cultural extravaganza will bring together different communities and foster an atmosphere of unity and appreciation for African Traditional Religions.
The Director – General, Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Wale Ojo – Lanre said that the Bureau recognized the potential of cultural tourism in promoting sustainable development and local economic empowerment. That the Carnival being proposed to hold in Ekiti is a pointer that demonstrates the appeal of Ekiti State as a prime destination for cultural exploration and sets the stage for future collaborations in the tourism sector.
Barrister Ojo- Lanre who presented the Certificate of Registration to Oba Ala said that the carnival also aligns with the ongoing efforts to promote peaceful co-existence amongst various religious beliefs and encourage tolerance and respect for diverse cultures within Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development applauded members of the organisation for their commitment to preserving their heritage and looks forward to a successful and memorable carnival.
