Super Eagles will not qualify for the 2026 World Cup whether they are led by a foreign or local coach, according to former international Emeka Ezeugo.
Ezeugo, who has been a frontline critic of the NFF, has predicted that because of the corruption in the NFF as well as desperation by his fellow ex-internationals, Nigeria will miss out on World Cup qualification for the second straight time.
The NFF are set to appoint a new coach to steer the Super Eagles to the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico with several ex-internationals linked with the top post.
Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and they are currently third in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 edition.
After two rounds of matches, Rwanda lead the standings with four points, while South Africa are second on three points.
The Super Eagles have two points after draws with Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November 2023.
They face two crucial qualifiers between June 3 and 11 at home against main rivals South Africa and away in Benin, who are now handled by former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
