Nigeria’s minister of power, Bayo Adelabu has landed in a fresh crisis following his recent comments about the usage of electricity in Nigeria, DAILY MONITOR reports.
Bayo Adelabu, who has been described as the Minister of darkness due to the epileptic power supply experienced across the country, was heard speaking about the management culture of Nigerians while trying to justify the recent increment in electricity tariffs.
Bayo Adelabu stated that Nigerians leave their freezers and AC on for days because they are not paying enough for the power they consume.
“We don’t have consumption management in this country. Some people leave their AC and freezers on for days because we are not paying enough for the power”
This statement was surprising to Nigerians as many posited that freezers are not meant to be out of power because they preserve food items.
They further described the minister as the worst of the president’s appointees because he has failed woefully in his position and since he emerged has not done any significant reform in the power sector.
