The Osun State Police Command has cautioned breeders and owners of exotic dogs against attacks on innocent people of the State.
The Command frowned at what it called recent incessant attack of these dogs on the people as their owners failed to restrain them within their propeperties.
In a Press Statement issued and made available to journalists over the weekend, signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, said the law has mandated dog owners to vaccinate them and restrain dogs within the perimeters of the owners’ properties to avoid unwarranted attack on bypassers.
Opalola drew the attention of dog breeders and rearers to the extant laws regulating their action, as directed by the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Umar Abba, that violators of this law will be punished according to the law.

The press statement reads thus: “The Police Command is using this medium to draw the attention of the members of the public especially those rearing or breeding dogs especially exotic ones for guard/security purposes or otherwise to the increasingly recent attacks on people by their dogs.
