The Refereeing Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has suspended centre referee, Tijani Usman Majidadi from officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Majidadi incurred the wrath of the committee following his poor handling of the NPFL encounter between Rivers United and Katsina United in Port Harcourt.
According to the NFF, the decision of the centre referee adversely affected not only the outcome of the game but contradicts the provisions of the Laws of the Game.
Recall that the Pride of Rivers won the game 2-0 as one of their outstanding games.
“In view of your decisions that adversely affect not only the outcome of the match between Rivers United FC Katsina United FC played on Thursday, 25th April 2024 in Port Harcourt wherein one of your decisions contradicts the provisions of the Laws of the Game.
“This not only negatively affects the outcome of the game but equally brings the game to disrepute. I am directed to notify you that you have been stepped down with immediate effect from the league until further notice.” Reads the letter addressed to Majidadi and Gombe State FA.
