A Gruesome discovery was made in the Barkin Sale New Extension area of Minna, Niger State, where 29-year-old Mizanmil Abubakar allegedly murdered his 60-year-old father, Malam Abubakar Adawa Tsonga.

The victim was reported missing three days prior, with his last sighting being at home.

On Tuesday, authorities found his body buried in the compound, concealed in a cement sack, with several body parts, including his head and legs, missing.

Abubakar is currently in police custody, pending further investigation into the heinous crime.

Confirming the incident to SaharaReporters, Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun said, “On 30/7/2024 at about 10am, information was received at Kpakungu Div that on 29/7/2024, one Abubakar Adawa 65yrs was missing from his house at Barkin-Sale area of Minna.

“Police operatives attached to the Div led by the DPO visited the house, while one Mizanmil Abubakar 29yrs and Aisha Abubakar, the mother and son were invited for interrogation.

“However, the whole compound was thoroughly searched, and surprisingly, the severed body of the missing person was discovered buried in a shallow grave within the compound.

“The said son confessed to being responsible for the gruesome act and that his late father (the deceased) had much hatred for him, hence, he used a hoe to kill and severed the victim into parts before he buried him in a shallow grave within the compound.

“Preliminary investigation is ongoing at the Div and the suspect will soon be transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and diligent prosecution.”
