Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Ibrahim Gusau has revealed that the federation in a couple of days will name a coach for the Super Eagles who will be having their next competitive match in four weeks time.

Gusau in Nantes, France told Sports Village Square that the NFF Technical Committee has already short-listed three coaches of which one of them will be chosen.

Although he declined to name the names as he would not want to interfere with the committee’s assignment, Sports Village Square could glean that the current coach of the France women’s team, Hervé Jean-Marie Roger Renard is among.

His contract with France expires at the end of the Olympics which will close on 11 August.

He guided Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire to AFCON successes in 2012 and 2015 respectively and handled Saudi Arabia to their famous 2-1 defeat of Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina at the last World Cup in Qatar.

Super Eagles will host Benin Republic in Uyo on 2 September in an AFCON 2025 qualifiers. Benin last month beat Nigeria 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier
