Amid the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest in Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Jumu’ah mosque Imams and Muslim leaders to promote peace and urge the Ummah to value tranquility over chao.
In a statement issued by the Secretary-General of JNI, Prof. Khalid Aliyu, on Thursday, Abubakar urged all Nigerians to end the protest and engage in dialogue.
“We call for an end to the escalating violence in the name of protest,” Abubakar said. “It is crucial to maintain a stable Nigeria for us to proudly identify as Nigerians.”
With Friday approaching, the Sultan asked Imams and Muslim leaders to calm tensions and encourage the Ummah to prioritize peace, which is essential for maintaining congregational prayers.
He also encouraged all Nigerians to pray for divine intervention in the current crisis.
