Fire has destroyed two churches and a furniture shop in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident occurred at Felele area of Ibadan.

Confirming the incident, a statement issued by the Oyo State Fire Service, said “The fire, which occurred at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele, Ibadan, affected a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and New Covenant Church, as well as a furniture shop”.

According to the General Manager of the Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, Firefighters swiftly swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

He added that the fire mostly affected plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely burnt.
