Fuji music star, Alhaji (Dr.) Sefiu Alao Adekunle, (Baba Oko Agbara Orin), has responded to an unwarranted allegation by a junior Fuji artiste, Taye Adebisi Akande popularly known as Taye Currency, that he, Sefiu Alao, once “copied” the style of a senior and highly respected Fuji artiste.

According to a recent viral video of Taye Currency which has attracted lots of condemnation from fans and followers of Fuji music stars, he mentioned at a party he was performing that Sefiu Alao Adekunle once copied the music style of certain Fuji stars while growing in the industry, Baba Honourable as Taye Currency is also called, categorically mentioned the name of Sefiu Alao in the video that he once copied someone.

Responding through his Media Manager, Saheed Ojubanire, Sefiu Alao said that nothing could be farther from the truth than the blatant pronouncement, publicly by Taye Currency that Baba Oko once copied any artiste or anyone, for that matter.

Ojubanire, speaking for Sefiu Alao, thereafter, contended that Taye Currency may not know the difference between some artistes seeing some senior colleagues in the industry as role models and actually copying their music styles.

Consequently, Ojubanire thought it necessary to differentiate to Taye Currency that, if he had said that Sefiu Alao once regarded the senior Fuji artiste he mentioned as one of his (Sefiu Alao) role models, it would have been a little more acceptable than telling a story of his senior colleagues in the industry that he knew nothing about, because he is too young to tell such stories.

Further more, Ojubanire mentioned that, Taye Currency is discovered to have recently engaged the services of an Agege, Lagos State, based music producer who has been feeding him with stories which are both false and untenable about the evolution of the Fuji music industry. If not, where on earth is the existence of any live or studio album Sefiu Alao could be said to have copied the style of the Fuji artiste he mentioned?, unless Sefiu Alao is paying homage to the said artiste, and decided to sing one of the senior Fuji musician’s popular songs in his honour?

Ojubanire concluded by advising Taye Currency to first verify anything his new music producer is telling him before going public with it. If not, the said music producer would further lead him astray, a development that could bring him to further condemnation, like the current situation has done.
