A 47-Year-Old secondary school dropout, Emeka Madu, has been apprehended for producing fake malaria drugs in an uncompleted building located in Ikotun, Lagos State.

Emeka, along with several accomplices, was arrested at the site where they were manufacturing and packaging the counterfeit medications intended for sale to unsuspecting Nigerians

Police revealed that the production of these fake drugs had the potential to cause significant harm, endangering the lives of thousands who might unknowingly purchase and consume them.

The raid on the illegal drug operation followed a tip-off from concerned residents who noticed suspicious activities at the building.

During his confession, Emeka disclosed that he learned the illegal trade from a friend who introduced him to the dangerous practice.

Police are now conducting further investigations to identify other members of the syndicate involved in the production and distribution of the counterfeit drugs, as well as to ensure they are held accountable for their actions.
