The government has declared 15 April (Monday) as a public holiday. The decision was taken as the ‘Oil Anointing Ceremony’ of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival falls on 15 April. The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has commenced an upward review of the fees to be paid by fresh students by 480 per cent. It was gathered that hike in tuition fees, and other rates were published on the University’s website.
