  Several civil servants of Nyandarua County government failed to report to their duties on Monday 25th, March 2024 after the county government cut their monthly salaries. According to these employees their salaries were deducted based on what the county termed as a misconduct. The Federal Government through the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, (NERC) has sacked managing director of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, Tinuade Sanda. The sack letter dated March 21 stated that the commission has directed the EKEDC, to ensure that all staff working for the utility are employed directly by the utility and are bound by applicable service conditions that are applicable to the employees of the utility and paid through the utility’s payroll. A Kano High Court has sentenced Geng Quandong, a Chinese man standing trial for the murder of his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummukulsum Buhari, to death by hanging. Quandong, a 47-year-old man, was found guilty found guilty of the offence of culpable homicide punishable with death under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Kano State and convicted accordingly.
