The police in Borno State have apprehended a couple having sex inside the All Saints Protestant Church, Police College, Maiduguri, the capital of the northeast state. The couple, identified as Kaka Ali Umar of Damboa Road and Khadija Adam of Ngomari area, Maiduguri, were arrested in the act on Monday, February 12, 2024, at about 11:40 am. Rev Danjuma Adamu told the police that they were having sex right inside his church when they were caught. Khadija said Kaka Ali paid her N1,000 for a short time. The two suspects have been detained for further investigation.

Some gunmen have killed a police inspector and released seven inmates in an attack on Okigwe Correctional Farm Settlement in Umualomoke, Okigwe in Imo State. The gunmen also attacked the residence of Senator Patrick Ndubeze in Okigwe, while they abducted the officer in charge of the farm settlement. The two hostages freed in an overnight operation have said they were held captive in the home of a family in Rafah, the Ynet news site reports. According to the report, Fernando Marman, 61, and Louis Har, 70, told Sheba Medical Center, where they are now being treated, that the reason for their relatively good health despite being held hostage for 129 days was that they were imprisoned in a Gaza home — the implication being that they were not held in a tunnel.
