At least 17 suspects including a 70-year-old man have been arrested by the Department of State Services in Niger State over the vandalism of interlocks, armoured cables, metals and other state government property on the streets of Minna. A Gambian former interior minister, Ousman Sonko has gone on trial in Switzerland, charged with crimes against humanity. Sonko fled The Gambia in 2016, shortly before former President Yahya Jammeh, accused of heading a repressive regime, lost power.
