Experts caution that bathrooms are breeding grounds for harmful bacteria, which can easily transfer from toilet surfaces to phones and eventually to users’ faces, hands and mouths, leading to infections.
“Taking your phone to the toilet increases the chances of spreading germs,” the warning states.
“When you use the toilet, flush or touch bathroom surfaces, your hands come into contact with harmful bacteria.”

Dropping phones into toilets or sinks is also a significant risk, resulting in costly repairs or replacement.
